Regular Season Round 39: Osaka Evessa - Fukuoka Rizing 89-68

There was no surprise when 8th ranked Fukuoka Rizing (14-22) was crushed on the road by third ranked Osaka Evessa (25-11) 89-68 on Friday. The game without a history. Osaka Evessa led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The game was also dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was forward Lawrence Blackledge (206-86, college: Marquette) who scored 26 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Forward DeAngelo Casto (203-90, college: Washington St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds. Blackledge is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Donnavan Kirk (206-91, college: Miami, FL) who recorded a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds and center Travis Derochowski (209-87, college: Simpson, CA) added 11 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Osaka Evessa. They maintain third place with 25-11 record having just one point less than leader Kyoto Hannar. Fukuoka Rizing lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the eighth position with 22 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
