Regular Season Round 19: L`Alfas - Sagunto 75-72

No shocking result in a game in Alfas Del Pi where seventh ranked L`Alfas (7-10) edged 9th ranked Sagunto (3-15) 75-72 on Saturday. Sagunto was trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 4-point lead after three quarters before a 23-16 charge of L`Alfas, which allowed them to win the game. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when L`Alfas made 7 blocks. Sagunto was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Belarusian power forward Ivan Zhauniarovich (205-86) fired a double-double by scoring 14 points, 12 rebounds and 6 blocks for the winners. Iker Benzazoua chipped in 15 points. Forward Alejandro Alcaniz (192-89) produced 21 points and 5 rebounds and American forward Devin Kastrup (203-92, college: Western St.) added 17 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. L`Alfas moved-up to sixth place in Group E. Sagunto lost their fifth game in a row. Sagunto at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the ninth position with 15 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
