There was an upset when higher ranked Desio (11-12) was edged at home by thirteenth ranked Fiorentina (8-15) 82-79 on Saturday. Fiorentina forced 20 Desio turnovers. Naturalized Ivorian guard Mohamed Toure (190-92, agency: Players Group) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Matteo Caroli (-95) contributed with 22 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals for the winners. Guard Daniele Quartieri (195-87, agency: SPORTlab Agency) answered with 25 points and 5 assists and center Filippo Politi (205-80) added 11 points and 15 rebounds in the effort for Desio. Five Fiorentina and four Desio players scored in double figures. Fiorentina moved-up to eleventh place in B, which they share with Volpino and Pavia. Desio lost their third game in a row. They keep the eighth position with 12 games lost. Fiorentina will face Moncalieri (#16) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game.
