No shocking result in a game in Mikawa where fifth ranked Hamamatsu Phoenix (23-10) smashed 10th ranked Oita Heat Devils (9-24) 111-80 on Saturday. The game without a history. Hamamatsu Phoenix led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. Hamamatsu Phoenix looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Deangelo Kirkland (203, college: Columbus St., agency: Interperformances) who scored 26 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. His fellow American import forward Reginald Warren (204-81, college: W.Florida) chipped in a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Chehales Tapscott (195-90, college: Portland St.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 16 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and Toshino Yoshihiko (186-92) added 18 points respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Hamamatsu Phoenix moved-up to second place, which they share with Okinawa GK and Akita NH. Oita Heat Devils lost their third game in a row. They keep the tenth position with 24 games lost. Hamamatsu Phoenix will face again Oita Heat Devils (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
