Semi-Finals Game 2: Al Jaysh - Al Rayyan 70-78

Al Rayyan toppled Al Jaysh and advanced into the D1 Finals. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Al Jaysh won third quarter 15-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Al Jaysh was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American point guard Dominic James (180-86, college: Marquette) orchestrated the victory by scoring 26 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals. The other American import forward Lawrence Hill (203-87, college: Stanford) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Four Al Rayyan players scored in double figures. American power forward Vernon Macklin (208-86, college: Florida) replied with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists and the former international point guard Mansour El Hadary (177-90) added 21 points and 4 assists in the effort for Al Jaysh.
