Regular Season Round 20: Gornik Walbrzych - Sudety 81-47

Everything went according to plan in Walbrzych where second ranked Gornik (17-3) outscored 5th ranked Sudety (11-9) 81-47 on Saturday. Gornik forced 22 Sudety turnovers and outrebounded them 42-26 including 30 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Rafal Niesobski (189-82) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 6 rebounds and swingman Karol Obarek (194-93) who added 12 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Four Gornik players scored in double figures. Power forward Pawel Minciel (203-88) responded with 18 points and 7 rebounds and swingman Aleksander Raczek (192-92) scored 7 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Gornik have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position in Group D with 17-3 record behind leader AZS AGH Alstom. Loser Sudety keeps the fifth place with nine games lost. Gornik will face league's leader Polonia Leszno on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Sudety will play against Gniezno (#12) and hope to win that game.
