Rather expected game in Saporro where 9th ranked Dragonflies (11-23) were defeated by sixth ranked Hokkaido L. (17-19) 63-58 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 21-9 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Hokkaido L. made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for American forward Jerome Tillman (201-87, college: Ohio, agency: Inception Sports) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 20 rebounds. Guard Asahi Tajima (173-88) helped adding 14 points and 4 assists. At the losing side American forward Haminn Quaintance (203-85, college: Kent St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds and the other American import guard Shannon Shorter (193-89, college: N.Texas) scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. The victory was the third consecutive win for Hokkaido L.. They maintain sixth place with 17-19 record. Dragonflies lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the ninth position with 23 games lost. Hokkaido L. will face Chiba Jets (#7) at home in the next round. Dragonflies will play against Nishinomiya S. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
