Regular Season Round 40: Okinawa GK - Shimane SM 95-58

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Shimane Magic (26-10) against fourth ranked Okinawa GK (24-10) on Sunday night. Visiting Shimane Magic was crushed by Okinawa GK in Okinawa 95-58. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Shimane Magic. The game without a history. Okinawa GK led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Okinawa GK forced 20 Shimane Magic turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Shimane Magic's players. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Evan Ravenel (203-89, college: Ohio St.) who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists (made all of his seven free throws) and the other American import guard Draelon Burns (194-85, college: De Paul) who added 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Four Okinawa GK players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Scootie Randall (198-90, college: Temple) responded with 18 points and point guard Edward Yamamoto (173-86) scored 16 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Okinawa GK maintains fourth position with 24-10 record, which they share with Hamamatsu P. Shimane Magic at the other side keeps the second place with ten games lost. Okinawa GK will play against Fukuoka Rizing (#9) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Shimane Magic will play against Oita Heat Devils (#11) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
