Regular Season Round 19: Betanzos - Vigren 83-91

Very predictable result when fourth ranked Vigren (10-3) beat on the road 11th ranked Betanzos (2-12) 91-83 on Sunday. Betanzos trailed by 21 points at halftime and as many as 23 after three quarters before a 35-20 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 83-91 at the end of the game. American forward Michael Balkovic (198-93, college: Caldwell, agency: Dynamics Global Management) fired 26 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Forward Rodrigo Cid Garcia (196-96) chipped in 21 points and 9 rebounds. Center Marcos Rozas (202-83) produced 23 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his eleven free throws !!!) and Jose Miguel Perez (202-96) added 11 points and 19 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Vigren. They moved-up to second place in Group A-B. Betanzos lost their third game in a row. They keep the eleventh position with 12 games lost. Vigren will face Estudiantes L. (#9) in Lugo in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Betanzos will play on the road against Mieres BVM and hope to win that game.
