Regular Season Round 40: Gunma - Saitama Bron. 94-66

The game between closely ranked teams ended with tenth ranked Gunma's (16-20) home victory over 11th ranked Saitama Broncos (3-31) 94-66 on Sunday. The game without a history. Gunma led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. Gunma outrebounded Saitama Broncos 37-25 including 29 on the defensive glass. It was a very good performance for American forward Thomas Kennedy (201-87, college: Detroit Mercy) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!), 12 rebounds and 4 assists. The other American import power forward Mike St.John (203-84, college: La Salle, agency: Global Sports Plaza) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. St.John is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Guard Janya Masumoto (183-88) replied with 14 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and American power forward Edward Morris (205-84, college: Pittsburg St.) added 17 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Saitama Broncos. Gunma moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Yokohama BC. Saitama Broncos lost fourteenth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with 31 games lost. Gunma will face higher ranked Toyama Grouses (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Saitama Broncos will play against Yokohama BC (#8) and hope to win that game.
