Regular Season Round 24: Jena - Heidelberg 78-59

ProA top team - Science City Jena (21-3) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed eighth ranked MLP Academics Heidelberg (11-12) 78-59. Science City Jena looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was a good game for American guard Immanuel McElroy (194-80, college: Cincinnati) who led his team to a victory with 17 points and 4 assists (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Lars Wendt (190-92) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Forward Max Rockmann (198-88, college: UMKC) replied with 15 points and American point guard Bryan Smithson (183-85, college: NC-Asheville) added 9 points and 4 assists in the effort for MLP Academics Heidelberg. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Science City Jena maintains first position with 21-3 record. MLP Academics Heidelberg lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 12 games lost. Science City Jena are looking forward to face Kirchheim Knights (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. MLP Academics Heidelberg will play against ETB Wohnbau (#14) and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
