Regular Season Round 23: Maddaloni - Napoli Basket 58-81

There was no surprise when 13th ranked Maddaloni (6-17) was outleveled at home by second ranked Napoli Basket (19-4) 81-58 on Sunday. Napoli Basket outrebounded Maddaloni 35-19 including a 28-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Napoli Basket especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Guard Simone Berti (196-85) orchestrated the victory by scoring 15 points and 6 assists. Point guard Salvatore Parrillo (190-92, agency: SPORTlab Agency) contributed with 11 points and 4 steals for the winners. Four Napoli Basket players scored in double figures. Naturalized Argentinian Juan Manuel Caceres (199-84, agency: Interperformances) answered with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and swingman Alessandro Florio (195-96) added 14 points in the effort for Maddaloni. Napoli Basket maintains second place in B with 19-4 record behind leader Forli, which they share with Bergamo. Loser Maddaloni keeps the thirteenth position with 17 games lost. Napoli Basket will face league's leader Roma E-basket at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Maddaloni will play against Scafati Cesarano (#7) and hope to win that game.
