There was no surprise when 14th ranked Ironi Ashkelon (3-16) was defeated at home by ninth ranked Hasharon (8-11) 91-76. They made 18-of-23 charity shots (78.3 percent) during the game. Hasharon outrebounded Ironi Ashkelon 45-24 including a 33-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Americans were the main players on the court. It was an exceptional evening for forward Billy McShepard (208-87, college: Valdosta St., agency: Blacktop Management) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 16 rebounds. Forward Lorenzo Gordon (201-83, college: Oklahoma City) accounted for 24 points and 6 rebounds (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winning side. Four Hasharon players scored in double figures. Forward Dominique Keller (205-88, college: Illinois) came up with 22 points and 7 rebounds and guard Marcus Moore (198-80, college: Washington St.) added 10 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists respectively for Ironi Ashkelon in the defeat. Hasharon moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Hapoel K/S. Ironi Ashkelon lost thirteenth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 16 games lost. Hasharon will play against Hapoel Kfar Saba (#8) on the road in the next round. Ironi Ashkelon will play against Maccabi Raanana (#5) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
