Bottom-ranked Lapuan Korikobrat managed to get a tenth victory, breaking the series of two consecutive losses. This time they won against fourth-ranked Kouvot 98-89. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Kouvot won fourth quarter 25-24. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lapuan Korikobrat made 19-of-22 charity shots (86.4 percent) during the game. Lapuan Korikobrat outrebounded Kouvot 40-27 including 29 on the defensive glass. American point guard Austen Rowland (186-81, college: Lehigh, agency: Inception Sports) orchestrated the victory by scoring 31 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists. His fellow American import power forward Damen Bell-Holter (206-90, college: ORU) contributed with 26 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. The former international Ville Kaunisto (205-82, agency: Court Side) answered with 28 points and 7 rebounds and American forward Thomas Gipson (201-93, college: Kansas St.) added 12 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Kouvot. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Lapuan Korikobrat (10-19) moved-up to ninth place. Kouvot at the other side keeps the fourth position with 13 games lost. Lapuan Korikobrat's next round opponent will be higher ranked Tampereen Pyrinto (#5) on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Kouvot will play against Helsinki Seagulls and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
