Regular Season Round 41: Panteras - Gigantes 85-90

There was no surprise in Aguascalientes where 9th ranked Panteras (12-25) were defeated by seventh ranked Gigantes (15-22) 90-85 on Thursday. Gigantes dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Panteras' 40 and made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. American swingman Tim Pickett (192-81, college: Florida St., agency: Interperformances) stepped up and scored 23 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import center James Williams (204-79, college: Brown Mackie, agency: DTMones) chipped in 16 points and 11 rebounds. Four Gigantes players scored in double figures. American guard Raymont McElroy (190-89, college: W.Virg.Wesl.) responded with 28 points and 5 rebounds and American-Panamanian Levour Warren (196-81, college: S.Carolina) scored 22 points. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Gigantes moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Abejas. Loser Panteras keep the ninth position with 25 games lost. They share it with Santos. Gigantes will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Panteras will play again against Gigantes (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
