Leader Soles delivered the 36th victory. This time they beat 11th ranked Ciudad (10-26) 81-77 in Mexicali. They outrebounded Ciudad 52-32 including a 37-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. International forward Juan Anderson (198-93, college: Marquette) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 16 rebounds. Guard Alexander Perez Kaufmann (191-93, agency: Pro Sports) contributed with 13 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Four Soles players scored in double figures. The former international power forward Arim Solares (202-83) answered with 9 points and 12 rebounds and naturalized American guard Justin Avalos (190-87, college: Western St.) added 12 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Ciudad. Soles maintains first place with 36-4 record. Newly promoted Ciudad stay dead last with 26 lost games. Soles will again play against bottom-ranked Ciudad (#11) in Ciudad Juarez in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Ciudad will have a break next round.
