Regular Season Round 23: Final Genclik - Balikesir 74-70

Another upset was a game between Balikesir (14-9) and Final Genclik (7-16), which took place in Bursa. Higher ranked Balikesir lost to sixteenth ranked Final Genclik in a road game 70-74 on Friday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Balikesir. Final Genclik made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. American players dominated the game. Forward Justin Knox (205-89, college: N.Carolina, agency: Two Points) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Daishon Knight (185-91, college: Illinois St.) contributed with 10 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Knox is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Point guard Alfrie Kelley (183-85, college: S.Carolina) answered with 20 points and 7 assists and forward Mike Davis (205-88, college: Illinois) added 14 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Balikesir. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Balikesir's coach Mete Babaoglu let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Final Genclik moved-up to fifteenth place, which they share with Bandirma Kir. Loser Balikesir keeps the sixth position with nine games lost. Final Genclik will face higher ranked Gelisim (#9) in Izmir in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
