Regular Season Round 23: Castello - Breogan 77-79

A very interesting game took place in Castellon. It ended with only two-point home defeat of higher ranked Castello (12-11) to eleventh ranked Leche Rio Breogan (11-12) 79-77 on Friday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Castello. It was an exceptional evening for American-Cape Verdean point guard Jeffrey Xavier (189-85, college: Providence) who led the winners and scored 19 points and 6 rebounds. Point guard Daniel Lopez (188-82) accounted for 7 points and 12 assists for the winning side. Four Leche Rio Breogan players scored in double figures. American-Nigerian forward Zimmy Nwogbo (201-91, college: Cedarville, agency: Duran International) came up with 8 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and American forward Brandon Garrett (206-90, college: Murray St., agency: Duran International) added 13 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Castello in the defeat. Castello's coach Toni Ten tested ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Leche Rio Breogan moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Palma. Newly promoted Castello dropped to the sixth position with 11 games lost. Leche Rio Breogan's next round opponent will be higher ranked Lobe Huesca (#5) at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
