Second Stage Round 8: IK Eos - Solna Branten 71-99

Very predictable result in Lund where first ranked Solna Branten (9-1) smashed 6th ranked IK Eos (2-7) 99-71 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Solna Branten. IK Eos was better in fourth quarter 19-8. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Solna Branten dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to IK Eos' 46. Solna Branten forced 20 IK Eos turnovers and outrebounded them 40-24 including 16 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of Kenyan forward Tylor Ongwae (199-91, college: La-Monroe) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 8 rebounds and American center Nick Smith (201-92, college: Dominican, NY) who added 25 points and 7 rebounds (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four Solna Branten players scored in double figures. Coach 's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Center David Hult (204-89) responded with 30 points and 6 rebounds and David Terins (192-95) scored 14 points and 4 steals. Solna Branten maintains first position in Superettan with 9-1 record. Loser IK Eos keep the sixth place with seven games lost. Solna Branten will face league's second-placed LF Future in Lulea in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. IK Eos will play at home against Hogsbo (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
