Regular Season Round 20: Santurtzi - Estela 80-70

The game had a very big importance for third-ranked Santurtzi as it allowed them to take a leadership position in Group A-A. Santurtzi defeated second-ranked Estela at home 80-70. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Estela. It was a key game for the top position in Group A-A. The game was mostly controlled by Santurtzi. Estela managed to win third quarter 20-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Estela 36-23 including 24 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Juan Torres (196-92) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds and forward Alex Hernandez (190-93) who added 20 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Four Santurtzi players scored in double figures. American guard Riley Stockton (192-92, college: Seattle Pacific) responded with 20 points and 8 rebounds and Pablo Sanchez (198-81) scored 19 points. Santurtzi have a solid four-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Pielagos. Estela at the other side dropped to the third place with four games lost. They share the position with Easo and Ardoi. Estela will play next round against La Fecha trying to get back on the winning streak. Santurtzi will try to continue on its current victory against seventh ranked TAKE Tolosa on the road.
