Not a big story in a game when 14th ranked Valmontone (6-18) was defeated on the road by eleventh ranked Giulianova (10-14) 80-67 on Saturday. Giulianova made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. Valmontone was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Danilo Gallerini (185-80) who helped to win the game recording 25 points (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and forward Ferdinando Matrone (202-95) who added 10 points and 14 rebounds during the contest. Five Giulianova players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was guard Antonio De Fabritiis (189-90) with 22 points and swingman Dario Scodavolpe (193-83) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. Giulianova moved-up to ninth place in B, which they share with Varese Coels. and Padova. Newly promoted Valmontone keeps the fourteenth position with 18 games lost. Giulianova will face Taranto (#13) on the road in the next round. Valmontone will play against Senigallia and hope to win that game.
