Regular Season Round 21: Stelmet ZG - Siarka 101-78

TBL top team - Stelmet (19-2) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed sixteenth ranked Stabill (4-18) in Zielona Gora 101-78. The game was mostly controlled by Stelmet. Stabill was better in second period 24-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 21-of-21 charity shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. Stelmet players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. Serbian power forward Dejan Borovnjak (207-86, agency: Beo Basket) nailed 19 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side and international swingman Mateusz Ponitka (196-93) accounted for 16 points and 5 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). American center Zach Robbins (208-91, college: Dixie St.) came up with 17 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and American-Nigerian point guard Mfon Udofia (188-90, college: Georgia Tech, agency: Octagon Europe) added 18 points and 5 assists respectively for Stabill in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the tenth consecutive win for Stelmet. Defending champion maintains first place with 19-2 record. Stabill lost their twelfth game in a row. They keep the sixteenth position with 18 games lost. Stelmet will play against Asseco (#7) in Gdynia in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Stabill will play at home against Trefl (#15) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
