Very expected game when 9th ranked Fukuoka Rizing (14-23) was defeated at home by fourth ranked Okinawa GK (25-10) 88-71 on Saturday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Okinawa GK looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American power forward Evan Ravenel (203-89, college: Ohio St.) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 15 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners and his fellow American import guard Draelon Burns (194-85, college: De Paul) chipped in 15 points and 6 assists. American center Travis Derochowski (209-87, college: Simpson, CA) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 19 rebounds and Josei Makoto scored 17 points. Four Fukuoka Rizing players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Okinawa GK maintains fourth place with 25-10 record, which they share with Hamamatsu P. Fukuoka Rizing lost their fifth game in a row. They dropped to the eighth position with 23 games lost. Okinawa GK will have a break next round. Fukuoka Rizing will play again at home against Okinawa GK (#4) and hope to win that game.
