Very predictable result when third ranked Osaka Evessa (26-11) defeated on the road 10th ranked Takamatsu FA (9-26) 67-61 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Takamatsu FA won third quarter 11-9. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Osaka Evessa won last quarter 23-18. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Osaka Evessa made 8 blocks. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. Forward Lawrence Blackledge (206-86, college: Marquette) stepped up and scored 18 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 blocks for the winners and forward DeAngelo Casto (203-90, college: Washington St.) chipped in 10 points and 11 rebounds. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Osaka Evessa. They maintain third place with 26-11 record having just one point less than leader Kyoto Hannar. Loser Takamatsu FA keeps the tenth position with 26 games lost. Osaka Evessa will have a break next round. Takamatsu FA will play again at home against Osaka Evessa (#3) and hope to win that game.
