Regular Season Round 20: Hokkaido L. - Chiba Jets 61-51
Date: February 28, 2016
No shocking result in a game in Saporro where sixth ranked Hokkaido L. (19-19) defeated 8th ranked Chiba Jets (13-21) 61-51. It looked good early as Chiba Jets took a 8-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Hokkaido L. took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 10 points. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Chiba Jets to just 7 points in second quarter. They outrebounded Chiba Jets 37-25 including 25 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by American forward Jerome Tillman (201-87, college: Ohio, agency: Inception Sports) who scored that evening 28 points and 7 rebounds and the former international guard Ryota Sakurai (194-83) supported him with 11 points and 4 steals. Even 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists by American power forward Rick Rickert (211-83, college: Minnesota) did not help to save the game for Chiba Jets. His fellow American import power forward Clint Chapman (208-89, college: Texas) added 12 points and 7 rebounds for the guests. Four Chiba Jets players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Hokkaido L. have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain sixth position with 19-19 record. Chiba Jets at the other side keep the eighth place with 21 games lost. Hokkaido L.'s next round opponent will be Kumamoto V. (#10) at home.
