Second Stage Round 8: Hogsbo - Solna Branten 74-96

The game between Top Four teams took place in Goteborg. 4th ranked host Hogsbo (6-4) was smashed by first ranked Solna Branten (9-1) 96-74. The game was mostly controlled by Solna Branten. Hogsbo managed to win third quarter 22-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. Solna Branten forced 20 Hogsbo turnovers and outrebounded them 43-32 including 29 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was Nils Johansson (198-97) who scored 26 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Kenyan forward Tylor Ongwae (199-91, college: La-Monroe) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds. American forward R.J. Slawson (206-92, college: Jacksonville) produced a double-double by scoring 23 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks and Lucas Brehm (-91) added 25 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Hogsbo's coach Jonas Fredrikson gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Solna Branten maintains first position in Superettan with 9-1 record. Newly promoted Hogsbo keeps the fourth place with four games lost. Solna Branten will meet league's second-placed LF Future in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Hogsbo will play against IK Eos in Lund and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
