Another exciting game was between first ranked Niigata Albirex and second-best Sendai 89ers where Niigata Albirex (26-12) beat Sendai 89ers (25-13) on the road 85-78. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The guests were already 11 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 25-21 Sendai 89ers' run in the last quarter cut the lead to 85-78 at the end of the game.
