The game in Lublin was also worth to mention about. 5th ranked Gdynia (12-6) played at the court of sixth ranked AZS UMCS (11-8). AZS UMCS did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 72-54. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Gdynia. The game was mostly controlled by AZS UMCS. Gdynia was better in third quarter 14-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 19-of-22 charity shots (86.4 percent) during the game. AZS UMCS forced 20 Gdynia turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for the former international center Marta Jujka (193-88) who led the winners and scored 17 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). International point guard Dominika Owczarzak (168-94) accounted for 15 points and 4 assists for the winning side. American center Paris Johnson (193-89, college: San Diego St.) came up with 10 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import Ashley Shields (180-85, college: SW Tenn.St.CC) added 14 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Gdynia in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. AZS UMCS maintains sixth place with 11-8 record. Gdynia at the other side keeps the fifth position with six games lost. AZS UMCS's next round opponent will be higher ranked Artego Bydg. (#3) in Bydgoszcz and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Gdynia will play at home against Polkowice and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
