There was no surprise when 8th ranked Gunma (17-21) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Toyama Grouses (24-12) 94-83. The game without a history. Toyama Grouses led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 19-of-25 charity shots (76.0 percent) during the game. Joho Masashi (183-82) notched 30 points and 5 assists to lead the effort and American forward Sam Willard (205-88, college: Pacific) supported him with 21 points and 13 rebounds. Even a double-double of 14 points, 16 rebounds and 5 assists by American power forward Gary Hamilton (208-84, college: Miami, FL, agency: Inception Sports) did not help to save the game for Gunma. Guard Kosuke Taneichi (188-87) added 24 points. Four Gunma players scored in double figures. Toyama Grouses maintains fourth position with 24-12 record, which they share with Shiga L-Stars.
