Regular Season Round 21: Rosa Radom - Asseco 87-80

Rather expected game in Radom where 7th ranked Asseco (12-10) was defeated by fourth ranked Rosa (17-4) 87-80 on Monday. The hosts trailed by 6 points at the halftime before their 26-12 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was American point guard Torey Thomas (178-85, college: Holy Cross) who scored 23 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. International swingman Michal Sokolowski (196-92) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Rosa's coach Wojciech Kaminski used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Anthony Hickey (180-92, college: Oklahoma St.) who recorded 17 points and 6 assists and swingman Przemyslaw Zolnierewicz (196-95) added 15 points and 4 assists respectively. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Rosa. They moved-up to third place. Loser Asseco keeps the seventh position with ten games lost. Rosa will meet AZS Koszalin (#9) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Asseco will play against the league's leader Stelmet and hope to secure a win.
