Regular Season Round 20: Hapoel K/S - Ramat Hasharon 81-61

Date: March 1, 2016
Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both eighth ranked Hapoel Kfar Saba and 9th ranked Hasharon had identical 8-11 record. This time Hapoel Kfar Saba used a home court advantage and smashed the opponent from Ramat Hasharon 81-61. Hapoel Kfar Saba forced 21 Hasharon turnovers. The game was dominated by American players. The winners were led by guard Vernon Teel (193-87, college: Loyola Mary) who scored that evening 22 points, 6 rebounds, 9 assists and 7 steals and center DeAngelo Riley (206-88, college: Azusa Pacific) supported him with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Four Hapoel Kfar Saba players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 12 points and 14 rebounds by forward Billy McShepard (208-87, college: Valdosta St., agency: Blacktop Management) did not help to save the game for Hasharon. Forward Lorenzo Gordon (201-83, college: Oklahoma City) added 18 points and 5 rebounds for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hapoel Kfar Saba have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Maccabi H/H. Hasharon at the other side keeps the ninth position with 12 games lost. Hapoel Kfar Saba's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Ironi Ashkelon (#14) at home and are hoping to win another game. Hasharon will play against the league's leader Galil Gilboa (#1) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
