Regular Season Round 24: Final Genclik - Gelisim 79-62

An interesting game took place in Bursa where higher ranked Gelisim (11-13) was upset on the court of fifteenth ranked Final Genclik (8-16) 79-62. The game was mostly controlled by Final Genclik. Gelisim was better in second period 22-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for forward Omer Unver (204-81) who led his team to a victory with 20 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Cahit Turan (200-87) contributed with 12 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Final Genclik players scored in double figures. American guard Royce Woolridge (190-92, college: Grand Canyon) replied with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds and his fellow American import center Marvin Jefferson (206-86, college: Idaho) added 7 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Gelisim. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Final Genclik maintains fifteenth position with 8-16 record. Gelisim at the other side dropped to the eighth place with 13 games lost. Final Genclik's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Adanaspor (#18) on the road.
