Regular Season Round 24: Breogan - Penas Huesca 76-87

Very expected game when 11th ranked Leche Rio Breogan (11-13) lost to fourth ranked Lobe Huesca (14-10) in Lugo 76-87 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Lobe Huesca. Leche Rio Breogan was better in third quarter 25-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lobe Huesca looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a good game for Serbian center Goran Huskic (210-92, college: Howard Col., TX) who led his team to a victory with 21 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Lithuanian forward Gabas Maldunas (206-93, college: Dartmouth) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. American-Cape Verdean point guard Jeffrey Xavier (189-85, college: Providence) replied with 16 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and Pep Ortega (201-84) added 18 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Leche Rio Breogan. Four Leche Rio Breogan players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Lobe Huesca moved-up to third place, which they share with Oviedo. Loser Leche Rio Breogan keeps the eleventh position with 13 games lost. Lobe Huesca will face Palma (#8) in S'Arenal in the next round where they are favorite. Leche Rio Breogan will play on the road against CB Prat and hope to win that game.
