Very predictable result in Valladolid where third ranked Fontedoso Carrefour (14-7) defeated 10th ranked Blancos de Rueda (8-12) 84-75 on Saturday. Blancos de Rueda was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Point guard Alvaro Lobo (192-92, agency: Duran International) stepped up and scored 31 points and 4 steals for the winners and point guard Carles Marzo (190-92, agency: Duran International) chipped in 16 points and 5 assists. Lobo is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The best for the losing side was British forward Rowell Graham (197-94) with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds and forward Javier Lobato (196-82) scored 18 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Fontedoso Carrefour maintains third place with 14-7 record having just three points less than leader Marin, which they share with Sammic ISB. Blancos de Rueda lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the ninth position with 12 games lost. Fontedoso Carrefour will face CB Granada (#5) at home in the next round. Blancos de Rueda will play against the league's leader Marin (#1) and hope to win that game.
