Prievidza knocked down Nitra to take 1-0 lead in the best-of-five series. The game without a history. Prievidza led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 40 of its points in the paint compared to Nitra's 18. They outrebounded Nitra 47-26 including a 35-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Prievidza players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. American-Iranian forward Mike Rostampour (203-91, college: Omaha, agency: N.E.T.) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 22 rebounds for the winners and Croatian forward Igor Maric (196-85, agency: PEPI SPORT) chipped in 20 points. Four Prievidza players scored in double figures. At the losing side Serbian guard Filip Simic (185-90, agency: Beo Basket) responded with 17 points and 5 rebounds and Serbian forward Filip Pejovic (198-89, college: Erskine) scored 9 points and 6 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
