Regular Season Round 44: Gunma - Yokohama BC 102-96 OT

Not a big story in a game when 9th ranked Yokohama BC (17-23) was defeated on the road by seventh ranked Gunma (19-21) 102-96 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 12 points after three quarters before their 25-13 charge, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time and get a 6-point victory in overtime. Gunma made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. Strangely Yokohama BC outrebounded Gunma 54-40 including 19 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Thomas Kennedy (201-87, college: Detroit Mercy) who helped to win the game recording 43 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds and the other American import power forward Gary Hamilton (208-84, college: Miami, FL, agency: Inception Sports) who added 17 points, 19 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Panamanian-American forward Jordan Henriquez (214-89, college: Kansas St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 22 rebounds and American forward Carl Hall (203-89, college: Wichita St.) scored 27 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Gunma maintains seventh position with 19-21 record, which they share with Shinshu BW. Loser Yokohama BC keeps the ninth place with 23 games lost. Gunma will have a break next round. Yokohama BC will play on the road against Aomori Watts (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
