Regular Season Round 27: Raholan Pyrkiva - PeU-Basket 100-104 OT

Raholan Pyrkiva (#5) forced the game against PeU-Basket (#3) into an overtime, but lost by four points 100-104 on Sunday night. The game took place in Tampere. But the guests from Pernio were better at the end. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 33-25. But Raholan Pyrkiva won second period 20-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where Raholan Pyrkiva used huge pressure winning it 25-16 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 9-13. PeU-Basket forced 21 Raholan Pyrkiva turnovers. Strangely Raholan Pyrkiva outrebounded PeU-Basket 45-27 including 18 on the offensive glass. It was a good game for American forward Henry Pwono (201-91, college: East Central) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!), 16 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals. Guard Antti Rindell (176-86) contributed with 21 points for the winners. Guard Tommi Rasi (184-98) answered with 25 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and Ukrainian power forward Timur Babkin (205-87) added 19 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Raholan Pyrkiva. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Raholan Pyrkiva's coach Heikki Jarnstrom rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. PeU-Basket maintains third place in Division with 20-6 record behind leader UU-Korihait. Raholan Pyrkiva at the other side keeps the fifth position with ten games lost. PeU-Basket will face league's leader Tapiolan Honka at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Raholan Pyrkiva will play against KaU Koris (#11) in Karkkila and hope to win that game.
