Regular Season Round 44: Osaka Evessa - Kyoto Hannar. 64-75

The game between closely ranked teams ended with second ranked Kyoto Hannar.'s (29-9) road victory over 3rd ranked Osaka Evessa (28-12) 75-64 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Kyoto Hannar.. Osaka Evessa was better in second period 16-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Osaka Evessa 41-25 including a 35-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Kevin Kotzur (203-89, college: St.Mary's, TX) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and the other American import forward Tyren Johnson (202-88, college: La-Lafayette) who added 15 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Four Kyoto Hannar. players scored in double figures. Kyoto Hannar.'s coach Honoo Hamaguchi allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American forward Lawrence Blackledge (206-86, college: Marquette) responded with 14 points and 4 steals and guard Narito Namizato (172-89) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. Kyoto Hannar. maintains second position with 29-9 record despite having the same number of points like the leader Shimane SM. Loser Osaka Evessa dropped to the fourth place with 12 games lost. Kyoto Hannar. will face Oita Heat Devils (#10) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Osaka Evessa will play against the league's leader Shimane Magic (#1) and hope to win that game.
