Regular Season Round 27: Jena - Trier 67-55

Leader Science City Jena delivered the twenty fourth victory. This time they beat 6th ranked Gladiators (16-12) 67-55. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Gladiators. Science City Jena made 19-of-23 charity shots (82.6 percent) during the game. They also forced 29 Gladiators turnovers. It was a good game for American guard Immanuel McElroy (194-80, college: Cincinnati) who led his team to a victory with 11 points. Power forward Oliver Clay (205-87) contributed with 10 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American forward Dwayne Evans (198-92, college: St.Louis) answered with 9 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Kevin Smit (183-91) added 16 points and 4 assists in the effort for Gladiators. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Science City Jena. They maintain first place with 24-3 record. Gladiators at the other side keep the sixth position with 12 games lost. Science City Jena will play against Finke Baskets (#13) in Paderborn in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Gladiators will play at home against White Wings (#11) and hope to get back on the winning track.
