Regular Season Round 22: Hiroshima D. - Mitsubishi DD 79-60

There was a minor upset in Hiroshima where 7th ranked Mitsubishi Dolphins (15-23) were crushed by ninth ranked Dragonflies (14-25) 79-60 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Dragonflies. Mitsubishi Dolphins was better in second period 23-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The former international power forward Kosuke Takeuchi (206-85) had a double-double by scoring 25 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Shannon Shorter (193-89, college: N.Texas) chipped in 11 points during the contest. Four Dragonflies players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Justin Burrell (207-88, college: St.John's) responded with 22 points and 6 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) and the former international guard Kei Igarashi (180-80) scored 11 points and 9 rebounds. Mitsubishi Dolphins' coach rotated twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Dragonflies maintains ninth position with 14-25 record. Loser Mitsubishi Dolphins dropped to the eighth place with 23 games lost. Dragonflies will face higher ranked Chiba Jets (#7) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
