There was a surprise result in Thessaloniki where eleventh ranked Iraklis (8-11) edged higher ranked Psyhiko (8-10) 70-67 on Saturday. Psyhiko was trailing by 8 points at halftime but managed to get 7-point lead after three quarters before a 27-17 charge of Iraklis, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 20 Psyhiko turnovers. Psyhiko was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was naturalized German forward Dimitris Cheilaris (206-90, agency: Octagon Europe) who scored 19 points and 8 rebounds. Center Dimitris Despos (209-76) chipped in 14 points and 6 rebounds. Forward Vasilis Angelakopoulos (203-79) produced 16 points and forward Nikolaos Papanikolaou (209-85) added 9 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Psyhiko's coach Nikos Remendelas rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Iraklis moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Pagrati. Loser Psyhiko keeps the seventh position with ten games lost. Iraklis will have a break next round.
