Second Stage Round 10: Solna Branten - IK Eos 80-52

Very predictable result when first ranked Solna Branten (12-1) rolled over at home 7th ranked IK Eos (3-9) 80-52 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Solna Branten. IK Eos was better in third quarter 20-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding IK Eos to just 7 points in first quarter. Solna Branten dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to IK Eos' 34. They outrebounded IK Eos 55-35 including a 35-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a very good performance for American center Nick Smith (201-92, college: Dominican, NY) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks. Kenyan forward Tylor Ongwae (199-91, college: La-Monroe) contributed with 15 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Five Solna Branten players scored in double figures. Center David Hult (204-89) replied with 22 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Adnan Karovic (188-88) added 8 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists in the effort for IK Eos. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Solna Branten maintains first position in Superettan with 12-1 record. IK Eos at the other side dropped to the sixth place with nine games lost. Solna Branten will have a break next round. IK Eos will play on the road against LF Future (#3) in Lulea and hope to win that game.
