Very important is a home loss of second ranked Lourdes-Tarbes (17-9) against sixth ranked Saint Vallier (16-10) on Saturday night. Host Lourdes-Tarbes was defeated by Saint Vallier in a tough game in Tarbes 82-89. Lourdes-Tarbes was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. They outrebounded Lourdes-Tarbes 33-21 including 26 on the defensive glass. Saint Vallier shot the lights out from three nailing 13 long-distance shots on high 56.5 percentage. Jonathan Hoyaux (196-88) orchestrated the victory by scoring 30 points. American swingman Rasheed Wright (196-80, college: ODU) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Guard Sebastien Cape (184-93) replied with 24 points and 4 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and Lithuanian forward Darius Tarvydas (200-91) added 20 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Lourdes-Tarbes. Saint Vallier moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Rueil. Lourdes-Tarbes at the other side keeps the second position with nine games lost. They share it with Maurienne. Saint Vallier will play against Rueil (#4) at home in the next round. Lourdes-Tarbes will play against Caen and hopes to get back on the winning track.
