Regular Season Round 46: Kyoto Hannar. - Oita H.Devils 93-81

Not a big story in a game when 10th ranked Oita Heat Devils (11-29) lost on the road to second ranked Kyoto Hannar. (31-9) 93-81 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Kyoto Hannar.. Oita Heat Devils was better in fourth quarter 32-29. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Oita Heat Devils 37-26 including a 28-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Oita Heat Devils were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. American players dominated also this game. Quite impressive performance for forward Kevin Kotzur (203-89, college: St.Mary's, TX) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points, 20 rebounds and 5 assists (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!). Forward Tyren Johnson (202-88, college: La-Lafayette) contributed with 17 points, 7 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Four Kyoto Hannar. players scored in double figures. Kyoto Hannar.'s coach Honoo Hamaguchi used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Chehales Tapscott (195-90, college: Portland St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 31 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Patrick Simon (203-92, college: Seattle Pacific) added 20 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Oita Heat Devils. Kyoto Hannar. have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 31-9 record despite having the same number of points like the leader Shimane SM. Loser Oita Heat Devils keep the tenth place with 29 games lost. Kyoto Hannar. will face league's leader Shimane Magic on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Oita Heat Devils will play against Okinawa GK (#3) and hope to win that game.
