Regular Season Round 46: Sendai 89ers - Saitama Bron. 81-69

BJ League top team - Sendai 89ers (29-13) managed to deliver another win on Sunday. This time they beat eleventh ranked Saitama Broncos (4-36) 81-69. The game was mostly controlled by Sendai 89ers. Saitama Broncos managed to win fourth quarter 25-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Sendai 89ers dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Saitama Broncos' 34. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American players dominated the game. Guard Wendell White (198-84, college: UNLV) notched a double-double by scoring 26 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and power forward Jamal Boykin (203-87, college: California) supported him with 16 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Sendai 89ers players scored in double figures. Sendai 89ers' coach Shuto Kawachi used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even a double-double of 26 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists by power forward Edward Morris (205-84, college: Pittsburg St.) did not help to save the game for Saitama Broncos. Power forward Evan Harris (206-86, college: Harvard, agency: I.D.S. Law) added 16 points and 10 rebounds for lost side. Sendai 89ers have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 29-13 record. Saitama Broncos lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh place with 36 games lost. Sendai 89ers will meet Yokohama BC (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Saitama Broncos will play against Fukushima and hope to secure a win.
