Regular Season Round 35: Utena - Suduva 66-54

LMKL round 35 caused change at the leadership position. Third defeat of league's leader Suduva (21-3) against second ranked Utena (22-2) 66-54 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the 11-game winning streak of Suduva. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The game without a history. Utena led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They also forced 19 Suduva turnovers. International swingman Marina Solopova (180-90) orchestrated the victory by scoring 23 points and 8 rebounds. The former international power forward Gintare Mazionyte (188-91, college: Texas) contributed with 13 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. The former international power forward Laura Svaryte (190-92) answered with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds and the former international guard Andra Andra Gabalyte (182-80, college: Liberty) added 17 points in the effort for Suduva. Four Suduva players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Utena have an impressive series of eleven victories in a row. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader. Suduva at the other side dropped to the second place with three games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Utena.
