Very expected game when 14th ranked Ironi Ashkelon (3-19) was defeated at home by third ranked Hapoel B/S (16-6) 76-66 on Tuesday. Hapoel B/S made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American power forward Keith Clanton (205-90, college: Cent.Florida) had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and center Anton Shoutvin (206-89) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Four Hapoel B/S players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Marcus Moore (198-80, college: Washington St.) responded with 26 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) and forward Ido Halifa (195-95) scored 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Hapoel B/S moved-up to second place, which they share with Ironi K-A and Hapoel G/A. Ironi Ashkelon lost sixteenth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 19 lost games. Hapoel B/S will face Ironi Ramat Gan (#6) on the road in the next round. Ironi Ashkelon will play against the league's leader Galil Gilboa (#1) in Rosh Pina and hope to win that game.
