Regular Season Round 47: Fukuoka Rizing - Hamamatsu P. 74-90

Very predictable result when fourth ranked Hamamatsu Phoenix (29-13) defeated on the road 9th ranked Fukuoka Rizing (14-28) 90-74 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by Hamamatsu Phoenix. Fukuoka Rizing was better in third quarter 22-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hamamatsu Phoenix made 29-of-38 free shots (76.3 percent) during the game. Hamamatsu Phoenix outrebounded Fukuoka Rizing 33-19 including a 24-11 advantage in defensive rebounds. Fukuoka Rizing was plagued by 31 personal fouls down the stretch. The game was also dominated by American players. It was a great evening for guard Kejuan Johnson (193-85, college: Long Beach St., agency: Inception Sports) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Forward Reginald Warren (204-81, college: W.Florida) helped adding 14 points and 9 rebounds. Four Hamamatsu Phoenix players scored in double figures. Forward Donnavan Kirk (206-91, college: Miami, FL) responded with 20 points and 8 rebounds and center Travis Derochowski (209-87, college: Simpson, CA) scored 10 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Hamamatsu Phoenix maintains fourth place with 29-13 record. Fukuoka Rizing lost their tenth game in a row. They keep the ninth position with 28 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
