The game between closely ranked teams ended with 6th ranked Hokkaido L.'s (23-22) home loss to fifth ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (27-13) in Saporro 68-80 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 7 points at the halftime before their 29-9 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Hitachi Sunrockers outrebounded Hokkaido L. 43-26 including a 19-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for American power forward Joshua Heytvelt (210-86, college: Gonzaga) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds. The other American import forward Ira Brown (193-82, college: Gonzaga) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. American forward Jerome Tillman (201-87, college: Ohio, agency: Inception Sports) replied with 17 points and 7 rebounds and forward Takanobu Nishikawa (195-92) added 19 points in the effort for Hokkaido L.Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Hitachi Sunrockers moved-up to fourth place. Loser Hokkaido L. keeps the sixth position with 22 games lost. Hitachi Sunrockers will face Nishinomiya S. (#11) in Hyogo in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
