Second Stage Round 14: Palanga - Mazeikiai 74-64

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Mazeikiai (27-11) against sixth ranked Palanga (20-18) on Saturday night. Visiting Mazeikiai was defeated by Palanga in Palanga 74-64. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Mazeikiai. It looked good early as Mazeikiai took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Palanga had a 24-13 second period charge getting the lead and Mazeikiai was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 64-74. American forward Titus Robinson (201-90, college: Buffalo) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points and 7 rebounds. Benas Vaitulionis (197-95) contributed with 16 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Guard Evaldas Saulys (195-93) replied with 18 points and 5 rebounds and Deividas Kumelis (188-95) added 10 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Mazeikiai. Palanga moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Perlas-MRU. Mazeikiai at the other side keeps the third position with 11 games lost.
